Looking ahead to 2026, I expect that the completion of many successful private equity deals will come from a combination of creativity and sectoral expertise.
As valuation gaps between buyers and sellers persist, the ability to structure transactions that bridge these gaps using tools such as earn outs, minority equity roles and other innovative risk sharing mechanisms, will be critically important.
Private equity firms that bring deep knowledge of their sectors will be well positioned to identify opportunities and invest with conviction, even in turbulent environments.
In this context, we expect to see strong activity among strategic buyers, including PE backed platforms, particularly tuck-in and bolt-on acquisitions to leverage existing operational strengths and market positions.
Ultimately, the most successful deals will be those that combine creative structuring with a nuanced understanding of sector dynamics, allowing investors to unlock value and drive growth despite ongoing market challenges.
